Sujata Achrekar (born 1968) is a Mumbai-based contemporary Indian artist known for her deeply spiritual and figurative works. She studied at the L.S. Raheja School of Art and earned her Diploma in Art Education from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai, where she later taught for over 12 years.

Her paintings are celebrated for their intimate portraits of Brahmin Brahmacharis  young men devoted to the pursuit of spiritual liberation  set against the evocative backdrop of India's pilgrimage centers. Her works often incorporate Sanskrit verses, weaving together visual art and sacred text into a seamless devotional expression.

Achrekar has held more than 10 solo exhibitions and participated in over 50 group shows around the world. She is the recipient of the Maharashtra State Award for Portraiture (1990 and 1992), the Bombay Art Society Award (1995), and was honored at the NGMA Women Artist Camp in 2005. Born into a family of artisans from Maharashtra's Konkan region, her artistic lineage runs deep  her grandfather crafted intricate silver 'taks,' sacred relief images of deities. Her husband, Vijay Achrekar, is also a distinguished artist.
