Description of Artwork:
The traditional head-dress of an elephant in a temple in the southern state of Kerala in India is a "Nettipattam", roughly translated to "head-band". I've attempted to re-create one of these for a baby elephant using a 3-D pen and PLA filament - commonly used in 3D printers. Per Hindu mythology, this was a warrior's head-dress created by Lord Brahma, for Indra's elephant, Airavata. In a world where we now expect the next generation to fight for environmental conservation, it is apt to have them go to battle well-prepared, and well-protected. That is why I designed this "Nettipattam" for a baby elephant. Onward and forward, young one!
